In collaboration with the other departmental Areas, Area Education organizes a wide range of training programmes, in Amsterdam and regionally, on health, gender and development. We also respond to requests for specific training courses, tailored to clients' needs and offered in-country. Clients include education and research institutes, NGOs and local or national governments and ministries.

Area Education carries out research, advisory work, policy development and tools development with partner institutes for postgraduate education. We place particular emphasis on human resources planning, retention and motivation of the workforce, training needs analysis, curriculum development and quality assurance of training.
