Do you want to keep informed about recent publications in your field?
Do you find it difficult to obtain journal articles in full-text?
If so, you may want to take advantage of the Selective dissemination of information (SDI) service offered by KIT Information & Library Services (KIT ILS).
One of the goals of KIT ILS is to support organizations and professionals in the developing world in the strengthening and expansion of their information services. The SDI service was developed to help KIT ILS achieve this goal.
Participants in the SDI service receive monthly acquisitions lists of articles in journals on one of the following topics:
- AIDS/Reproductive Health
- Children
- Communicable Diseases
- Education; Environment
- Gender; Health – Africa
- Health – Americas
- Health – Asia
- Human Rights
- Libraries/Information Technology
- Nutrition; Poverty
- Rural Development.
Since the topics on the lists are quite broad, we encourage participants to look at other lists related to their primary area of interest. That way, they can find more relevant articles. If you would like to see a sample list, please click on the link 'Latest SDI list'.
The SDI service includes a document delivery component. Participants in developing countries can select articles from the acquisitions lists to be photocopied and sent to them free of charge. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides all the funds for these services.
