Disease management and control
The Millennium Development Goals stress the importance of addressing major and debilitating diseases and initiatives such as the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and other targeted donor policies have led to a greater availability of resources. Low-income countries have trouble absorbing these extra resources, however, because of weak public health care systems.
