Coffee - Gender & Certified Coffee Chains
Coffee is the world's 2nd traded commodity, after oil. Approximately 25 million small producers world-wide depend use the income from coffee production as the main way to make a living. Many of these farmers are female. Organizations that are involved with standardization and certification give their vision on the role of gender in the coffee chain and what challenges they experience. The film shows seven strategies which were the result of the workshop, to ensure that gender is integrated in certified coffee chains.

'Development cooperation on the stock market'
On Friday 22 October at 9.00 am sharp, Jan Donner, President of the Executive Board of the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), marked the opening of the trading day on the Amsterdam stock market (NYSE Euronext Amsterdam) by sounding the bell. The bell ceremony takes place every day with distinguished guests from the business community, the government, the world of sports and the not-for-profit sector.
