For a journey to the (sub)tropics you need to take precautions to stay healthy during your holiday or work assignment, and upon returning home. Due to differences in climatic conditions, hygienic standards and the quality of health facilities, an ordinarily healthy person may be unable to enjoy a holiday or be unable to work. In most cases, certain simple preparations and precautions can help to reduce minor and major health risks.
In the Netherlands there are many sources of information on health matters when traveling to exotic locations. You are welcome to visit our KIT Library for more information about travelling and about specific regions.

All vacancies at the Royal Tropical Institute are listed on the vacancies page.

There are some possibilities to undertake a PhD research at KIT Biomedical Research. However, KIT does not offer a doctoral research programme because it is a research institute, not a university. Should you wish to carry out your doctoral research at KIT Biomedical Research, we can always work together with (Dutch) universities and find a PhD tutor at a (Dutch) university.

Unfortunately, KIT does not offer funding possibilities. KIT relies on external funding for its own activities and does not provide funding for external parties.
