The KIT department Information & Library Services (KIT ILS) facilitates worldwide access to (digital) information on development issues, such as sustainable development, poverty reduction, health issues, and cultural exchanges. KIT ILS also provides training, and advisory and information services on information management for development.

In the context of concentration of information services in the area of development in the Netherlands, KIT provides information services to several organizations, such as Doctors without Borders, ICCO, NCDO, Oikos and PharmAccess.

Information Products

KIT ILS presents KIT Portals and Dossiers with online (background) information on specific development themes. KIT ILS also co-publishes the Exchange: a quarterly magazine on HIV and AIDS, sexuality and gender. Search4Dev is an online library (repository) for digital documents of Dutch development organizations

KIT develops training material and organizes courses on a variety of subjects related to information management for development.

Advisory services information management

KIT designs and provides advisory services and undertakes research projects to strengthen the role of information management for development. KIT ILS cooperates with libraries in the South to build their institutional capacity. The department is specialized in integrating ICT into development programmes.
