Databases on Culture

The databases which are marked with a * are freely accessible through the KIT Intranet and on the computers in the KIT Library. You are also able to see the full text.

AnthroSource *
AnthroSource aims to unite the breadth and diversity of anthropological scholarship in one online resource. AnthroSource is more than a content collection. It is an evolving, interactive repository of research and communications tools designed to bring the most credible and relevant of anthropological scholarship together in one place and to support a strong community of scholars, teachers, and students in the field.

KIT Tropenmuseum Collection
The collection of the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam contains more than 300,000 objects and historical photographs. This website enables you to browse these collections and view the related documentation. The documentation has been subdivided in separate categories, being either Constituents, Events, exhibitions or literature. At this moment the Tropenmuseum’s entire collection contains over 254,000 pieces, of which 155,000 are Material Culture (objects), 89,000 are Photographic material (photographs, albums, slides, negatives etc.), and 10,000 other imagery (drawings, paintings, graphics, documents etc.).

SVCN - Stichting Volkenkundige Collectie Nederland
