About ILS

KIT Information & Library Services (KIT ILS) has extensive knowledge and expertise in virtually all fields of information services. KIT ILS facilitates access to information on development assistance issues, and offers many products and services, related to information management for development. The KIT Library is at the core of it all.

KIT Library is the (digital) source in the Netherlands on development cooperation and the colonial past.

The library catalogue gives you access to recent (e-) publications as well as maps and atlasses.

KIT Library also maintains the heritage collection of KIT, of which a large part now is digitized.

Information services and products

KIT ILS products and services are available to users worldwide. A few examples:

  • Tailor-made information for organizations and companies: KIT ILS offers information services focused on the needs of your organization via a customized webpage
  • Literature search: Our information specialists are specialized in conducting a fast and efficient literature search on issues related to health, sustainable development, gender and culture in low- and middle-income countries
  • KIT Information Portals: Access to online information on specific development themes
  • Dossiers: Online background information about current issues where KIT is actively involved
Advisory services and training

KIT ILS offers development organizations abroad as well as in the Netherlands support in developing their information services.

KIT ILS works together with libraries in the South within the framework of international development cooperation. The department conducts research in the field of information and library services and publishes findings.

KIT ILS also develops training material and organizes courses on a variety of subjects related to information management for development.
