New diagnostics needed to detect malaria infection during pregnancy

Are molecular tests accurate enough to diagnose sleeping sickness?
27 January 2012Recently, the department Biomedical Research of the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) investigated the accuracy of new, high-technology diagnostics for sleeping sickness. There were two leading questions. Firstly, does the accuracy of these tests warrant their implementation in endemic settings. Secondly, should limited resources be re-directed towards this goal. -

9 March 2011The CCKL (ISO15189) accreditation for KIT Biomedical Research’s laboratory for leptospirosis has been renewed for a period of five years. The WHO/FAO/OIE and RIVM Reference Laboratory for Leptospirosis is a worldwide renowned expertise center in the field of leptospirosis. -
