The steady increase and availability of online information resources in academic and research institutions all around the world, has given rise to a demand for training programmes to empower end-users to use these resources effectively. Such a training programme may include aspects of information literacy - the capacity to critically evaluate information resources - as well as a range of (technical) information skills. Providing such training to end-users is typically a task for the library staff at academic institutions.
This course aims at creating capacity among library staff to initiate and implement end-user training for the use of online information resources. This includes organizational aspects as well as training-of-trainer sessions. The course will use existing, generic training modules developed by KIT.
