By the end of the course, trainees will be competent to:

  • carry out a search analysis
  • design a search strategy
  • use evaluation criteria for the selection of information
  • manage different tools and sources that are helpful in searching for relevant and topical information on the Internet
  • explain the difference between searching the general and the deep web, and
  • apply different methods of managing search results

 

The course offers a balanced mix of practical exercises and theory. Subjects include search request analysis, search strategy, search tools, Internet sources, record keeping, and presentation of search results. Since the course comprises several sub-modules, it can easily be tailored to the client’s wishes and demands.
