The mission of KIT Biomedical Research (KIT BR) is to improve the quality and effectiveness of health provision and services for people in low and medium income countries. We achieve this through interrelated laboratory and applied activities, including research, advice and capacity building.
Our focus is on detection, management and control of infection and disease.

KIT Biomedical Research is a widely recognized and renowned international expert centre working in the field of essential diagnostics. Many of KIT Biomedical Research’s endeavours lead to tangible results in policy and practice.

BR Research

KIT Biomedical Research generates, evaluates and translates knowledge and evidence for improved detection, diagnosis, management and control of (infectious) diseases and other health problems in low and middle income countries.

BR Diagnostic Products

KIT Biomedical Research is active in different phases of the diagnostic pipeline from biomarker discovery and assay format development to field evaluation and manufacturing; we work closely with private partners.

We have a record of accomplishment and international reputation in the field of essential diagnostics.

BR Advisory Services

KIT Biomedical Research carries out advisory services for third parties covering the entire spectrum of essential diagnostics from biomarker research, diagnostics development and manufacturing, quality management systems, evaluation studies, epidemiology and GIS to health related policies.

BR Training

KIT Biomedical Research uses its expertise and experience to build sustainable local capacity through training and collaboration in long-term partnerships.
KIT Biomedical Research facilitates MSc and PhD students during their studies.

BR Events
