Leptospirosis reference materials

KIT Biomedical Research harbours the WHO/FAO/OIE and National Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Leptospirosis, which offers a wide variety of diagnostic and reference services to the international health care community.
Materials such as Leptospira reference strains, culture media, rabbit reference sera and mouse monoclonal antibodies are distributed and typing and epidemiological services are offered.
As a not-for-profit organization, KIT Biomedical Research charges only costs covering production, transport and handling of the requested materials and services albeit that costs are differentiated towards other not-for-profit institutions and commercial organizations.

Approach

KIT Biomedical Research focuses on an improved public health worldwide. Within this scope it provides essential reference materials and services for leptospirosis diagnosis and research at a global scale on a not-for-profit basis taking into account a solidarity principle in which those who can afford it contribute in costs for those who suffer from financial constraints.
