Frode Forland is a medical doctor, MD/DPH, and a specialist in Public Health and General Practice. After being a clinician in Norway and Zimbabwe for ten years, he has worked with projects on EBM and Guidelines development in the Norwegian Directorate of Health, where he lead the Department of Quality, Prioritisation and Guidelines, being responsible for the National Guidelines Programme and establishment of the Norwegian Electronic Library for Health and the National Strategy for Quality Improvement. He later became the Director for Primary Health Care in the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
Before joining KIT he worked two years as a senior expert at the EU Agency for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm on capacity building and development of methods for Evidence Based Public health. Frode has been an editor of the Norwegian Journal for Public health and General practice, and he was involved in Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) from its founding, and where he currently is a Board member. He is a member of several Boards and advisory committees on Evidence based health care nationally and internationally.
