SDG Action Day 2021
It’s time for SDG Action Day 2021, and this time it is not one, but two days!
On Friday 24th September 2021 there will be a virtual plenary programme and workshops, and on Saturday, 25th September, the programme will move out into the country and local partners will organize on-site activities.
With the theme ‘Creating an SDG Movement Together’, this year’s focus is also on local actions that contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive society. How can we strengthen, connect, scale up and make these actions more visible?
The program focuses on the professional network working on the SDGs, and on engaged citizens and youth.
SDG Action Day is organised by SDG Nederland, in cooperation with PwC, SDG House Amsterdam (part of KIT), Amsterdam Municipality, Global Compact Netherlands and DSGC.

KIT Royal Tropical Institute/SDG House Workshop – How to ‘leave no one behind’
Workshop Round 1
13.00 – 14.30
Leaving No One Behind is the central tenet of the SDG Agenda. It represents the unequivocal commitment of all UN member states to eliminate poverty in all its forms, end discrimination and exclusion, and reduce inequalities and vulnerabilities. But how do you fit this into your organization? How do you ensure that no one is left behind in your activities? In this interactive workshop we will identify SDG Challenges in organizations and daily life.
Example challenges and solutions from the SDG Traineeship will be discussed and we will work towards actionable steps that give substance to the concept of ‘leaving no one behind’.
KIT Royal Tropical Institute/SDG 3 Alliance – Building a Mentally Healthy Society
Workshop Round 2
14.45 – 16.15
The corona crisis has taken a big toll on our mental well-being and resilience. The newspapers are full of headlines about the mental health of young people, people working at home, the elderly, medical personnel and teachers. But where there seems to be a high need in areas such as loneliness, stress, gloom and meaning, the resourcefulness and willingness to help each other has also become apparent.
This SDG 3 Alliance workshop will highlight great initiatives around mental health and you will be inspired to help build a society that is mentally healthy.
