September 2022 update: Start of the renovation, work of the Municipality
Parking at KIT
For the renovation of the hotel we have set up part of our parking lot as a construction site. Residents who currently have a right to park on the KIT premises are not affected. They can still use the parking lot in front of the hotel. At certain points during the construction security staff may ask you to park on the other side of the KIT premises.
Construction work in week 40 (3 – 7 October)
The entrance to our premises from the Linnaeusstraat will largely remain accessible during the renovation. However from 3 – 7 October work is being done on underground cables. Access from the Linnaeusstraat to the main building and the depot of the Tropenmuseum will therefore be restricted.
- Suppliers and delivery services will be diverted to another entry
- Pedestrians can make use of footbridges to enter the building.
- Access to and from the Tropenmuseum depot will not be possible on 5, 6 & 7 October
- The offices at Linneusstraat 2a will remain accessible for pedestrians. However, it will take a few days more, until October 12, before the pavement there will be fully restored.
Work of the municipality on the entrance to the Oosterpark from the Mauritskade
Unrelated to the renovation of the KIT Hotel the municipality of Amsterdam is starting work today on the entrance of the Oosterpark from the Mauritskade. They expect this work to last four weeks. Suppliers and delivery services seeking access to our premises by car will be asked to enter through the park using the entrance of the van Moof offices at Mauritskade 55. SDG House residents that come by car can still make use of the entrance at the Linnaeusstraat.
