On June 9 (Sunday), Redbull is celebrating ‘a new generation of Soul’ at the Royal Tropical Institute with Red Bull Presents: The Future of Soul. As a preview the famous soul talent Rimon recorded an Uncut video in the marble hall. With focu$, Rimon aims to inspire and encourage women to focus even more on their own growth. The video shows how she’s been in a relationship, had to say goodbye, and found herself again.
Rimon mentions growth as a common thread. Life already taught her a lot, whether she wanted to or not. Her mother fled with her as a toddler from Eritrea to Europe. Once in the Netherlands, they stayed together, awaiting a residence permit in various asylum centers, until they got their house in Zandvoort. Music was an escape from her daily life. Regarding the video, she says: ”I really wanted the choir and string ensemble to be women-only. We had a free choice in terms of location and production, and we succeeded quite well.”
