KIT Fund: Partial Scholarship 2025-2026
Thanks to donations this year, we are able to offer a few partial scholarships to talented health professionals from low- and middle-income countries who aim to improve the health situation in their countries and wish to study the Master of Science in Public Health and Health Equity at KIT Institute. Please read the information below for eligibility, additional funding requirements, and the application instructions.

Who is eligible?
- Candidates must be admitted to the KIT Institute Master of Science in Public Health and Health Equity and meet all application requirements of the scholarship.
- They must hold a passport from a low- and middle-income country.
- They must meet the application requirements for the scholarship application as written below. Read Rules and Regulations KIT Fund for complete eligibility and details.
- They must meet the requirements for obtaining a Dutch visa (MVV residence permit). Find the latest information on the website of the Immigration and Naturalisation Service.
- ATTENTION: We encourage candidates from a number of Arab countries to also apply for a scholarship from the Rabbani Foundation, in case they are looking for additional funding. KIT Fund has worked together with Rabbani Foundation before. Visit their website for more info on eligible countries and other criteria. Make sure to indicate in the application below that you also applied for a scholarship with the Rabbani Foundation.
Amount of the partial scholarship
The scholarship is valued at 21.700 euro and is intended as a contribution towards the tuition fees of the Master’s programme at KIT Institute for a maximum period of 12 months from September 2025 to September 2026.
Please note: All remaining costs are not covered by the KIT Fund scholarship. Those costs are the responsibilities of the scholarship holder. Remaining costs are approx. 18.003 euro. This includes return flights from country of origin to Amsterdam, in-country travel, living costs, accommodation, visa and insurance. Also see the financial statement that you have received with your admission letter for exact details of all costs.
Application Requirements
A candidate applying for a scholarship from KIT Fund must:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic training in either medicine or another field related to health care, such as health sciences, health economics, social sciences, or nursing.
- Have a minimum of three years of health-related working experience in health systems, not limited to (organisation of) individual patient care, but including an involvement with public/global health, in resource constrained settings and/or with marginalized communities, and have a proven interest in these areas.
- Have a proven commitment for the public case (for example, work in remote rural areas or for disadvantaged populations).
- Endorse the objectives and aims of the KIT Fund. This means the candidate must return to their country of origin and contribute to improving the health situation with the knowledge and skills acquired during the Master’s programme.
- Be a national of and working and living in a low- and middle-income country at the time of application.
- Have academic admission to the KIT Master’s programme for the coming year 2025-2026. This means that the candidate must have met all the academic and administrative requirements set by KIT.
- Not be employed by a multinational corporation.
- Work in a field and be in a position where studying at KIT can make a relevant contribution, by applying the newly acquired skills and knowledge.
- Be available full-time to pursue the course or program without interruption and be physically and mentally able to participate in the entire program.
- Have other financial means complementing the partial scholarship from KIT Fund, to be able to cover all relevant costs. These other financial means can be in the form of own savings, another scholarship, or institutional sponsorship (organisations, i.e., government agencies, NGOs, private companies, or other).
Application Procedure
- Obtain academic admission: Apply and gain admission to the Master of Public Health and Health Equity programme for 2025-2026. Only applicants who have been accepted into this Master’s programme are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Fulfill all requirements: Ensure you meet all application requirements before starting the application process. Unfortunately, applications that do not meet all requirements will not be considered.
- Secure proof of co-funding: To apply for this scholarship, you must secure a verified source of co-funding to cover the remaining costs. Only applicants with proven funding will be considered during the selection process.
- Upload documentation: Upload the required documents to the KIT Application System.
- Apply by filling in the form below. Once you uploaded your documents, you can apply by filling out the form below. The deadline for submitting your documents and application is 18 February 2025.
- Selection procedure: The selection committee will communicate the results at the end of April 2025. You will then be informed whether or not you have been awarded a scholarship.
- Transfer co-funding: If selected for the scholarship, you will be required to transfer €18,003 by 12 May 2025.
Required documentation
- Admission letter to Master of Public Health and Health Equity
- Proof of financing for the remaining part of the funding (minimum €18,003). Check the financial statement you received with your admission letter). This proof of financing can be bank statements, a letter of financial support by another scholarship provider, an employer, or other source of institutional financing. If the proof of financing is using another currency, make sure to add a correct conversion to euro with the conversion date.
- A motivation letter: Why you are applying to KIT Fund and how you plan to use the skills acquired to the advantage of the public case.
- A 500-700 word essay describing a public health problem you have experienced in the last two years that you would like to discuss or address in the course. Explain how this problem has consequences for the community and the health system.
- An updated Curriculum Vitae.

PLEASE NOTE: Your application will not be reviewed or considered for the partial scholarship if your application file is incomplete, if you do not have enough proven additional funding or have not followed all steps of the application procedure. Only complete files will be forwarded to the selection board.
