I am Naznine Nahar, a development practitioner from Bangladesh. I work in the field of climate change and development. I completed my bachelor’s degree on Urban and Rural Planning and I focused on topics like Climate Change & Health Nexus, Health Planning, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). During my four years of professional career, I worked very closely with rural women groups who are highly exposed to climate change impact.
How climate change impacts health equity for women in rural Bangladesh
While working with these rural women groups, I noticed women’s health – especially sexual and reproductive health – is highly vulnerable due to the impact of climate change. I realized that it is necessary to advocate for climate-resilient health systems. Only this way we can ensure health equity for climate-vulnerable rural people in my country.

Promoting gender-responsive & climate-resilient health systems
I found KIT is one of the very influential global stakeholders in Public Health Promotion. I believe KIT will provide me necessary skills and competency with which I can promote gender-responsive & climate-resilient health systems in my country. I also believe that KIT will connect me with wider networking, that will allow me to participate in local to global level advocacy.
