KIT Fund: Scholarship 2025-2026

Thanks to donations from foundations, companies and individual donors this year, KIT Fund offers a limited number of scholarships to those who will start their Master in Public Health and Health Equity at KIT in September 2025. These scholarships are available to talented health professionals from low- and middle-income countries who aim to improve the health systems they work in, and therefore come to study a Master’s programme at KIT Royal Tropical Institute.    

If you are interested in applying, please read all the information and follow the application steps as described in detail below. 

Eligibility Criteria 

A candidate applying for a KIT Fund Scholarship should meet the following criteria: 

• The candidate must have unconditional admission to KIT for the Master of Public Health and Health Equity 2025-2026. This means meeting all the academic and administrative requirements set by KIT Institute to be accepted for the MPH-HE programme. 
• The candidate is from a low- or middle-income country.  
• The candidate must not be employed by: 
  • a multinational corporation (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft); 
  • a large national and/or a large commercial organisation; 
  • a bilateral donor organisation (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, Dutch ministry of Foreign Affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid); 
  • a multilateral donor organisation, (e.g. a UN organisation, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB); 
  • an international NGO (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care). 
• The candidate has a proven commitment to the public case (for example, work in remote rural areas or for disadvantaged populations) and clear plans to continue in this field. This must be evident in the submitted documentation. 
• The candidate works in a field where a study at KIT can make relevant contribution. 
• The candidate is in a position to introduce and apply the newly acquired skills and knowledge in their work, upon returning to their country, 
• The candidate is available full-time to pursue the programme without interruptions and is in good physical and mental health to participate in the entire programme. 
• The candidate must endorse the objectives and aims of the KIT Fund, which aims to improve health systems in low- and middle-income countries. The scholarship recipients are expected to return to their home country after graduation and contribute to improving health and health care, using the knowledge and skills gained at KIT. Scholarship holders will be asked to sign an agreement confirming this commitment.
