Investing in Health Equity: Donors and Future Health Leaders Meet
On 25 November, the KIT Fund brought together scholarship donors and students for a Meet & Greet in KIT’s Reading Room. It was an inspiring afternoon thanks to all those who attended.
Donors met the students they support and heard first-hand about their first three months in the Master’s programme – from immersing themselves in their studies to getting used to life in Amsterdam, including learning to cycle. Shared knowledge was tested with a brief quiz for donors and students, and students talked about their ambitions and the health challenges spanning maternal care in Ethiopia, mental health in Gaza, and LGBTQI+ healthcare in Vietnam.

The Master’s as learning experience for everyone
Lecturer Irene de Vries shared her insights on teaching experienced health workers from diverse contexts. Learning from each other’s experiences in the classroom, she noted, is equally valuable to me as a lecturer.
This afternoon, it became clear once again how scholarships enable future leaders in healthcare to bring about lasting change in their communities. Thank you to all those who attended. Your support changes lives and builds a healthier, more equitable future worldwide.
