Investing in people with support from Dioraphte
With support from Dioraphte, five ambitious health professionals can pursue KIT’s master’s programme, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to create structural improvements in healthcare.
Public health worker Emmanuel Len Opio received a KIT Fund scholarship in 2024. At the start of his master’s programme, he wrote: “Thank you for recognizing the potential and value of this investment, which enables me to build an international network and work towards health equity in Uganda and beyond.” His scholarship, along with those of two fellow students that year, was made possible by Dioraphte. The KIT Fund is pleased to announce that for the 2026-2027 academic year, Dioraphte will support 2 scholarships one final time before refocusing its reproductive healthcare strategy from its Nairobi base.
Investing in people
Dioraphte is a Dutch foundation supporting initiatives that meaningfully impact people’s lives in the Netherlands and across Africa. Their dedication to health equity, especially for vulnerable populations with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights, aligns with the work of scholarship students Dagmawit Workagegnehu and Mahlet Kebede from Ethiopia and Emmanuel Len Opio from Uganda.
“ I am deeply grateful to the KIT Fund donors for making this life-changing academic and professional journey possible. Without your support, this would not have been achieved. ” ”

Dioraphte’s new strategy
From 2025, Dioraphte will continue its support in Africa with a specific focus on SRHR for marginalized adolescent girls and boys aged 10-19 who are at risk of early parenthood. This new strategy prioritizes African-led, community-based SRHR initiatives. It is wonderful that together we can work towards our shared ambition: improving healthcare where it is needed most, alongside the people who have the right experience and local support.
