Partnering up: KIT Fund and TSH Talent Foundation join forces

KIT Fund and the TSH Talent Foundation have partnered to offer the Changemaker Scholarship to talented health professionals from low- and middle-income countries. The joint scholarship enables talented health workers to complete their Master’s programme at KIT to become leaders in global health. What sets the scholarship apart is its holistic support model, combining housing, wellbeing, community, and purpose-driven learning through mentoring and a peer-learning-based approach.

Thanks to the partnership, two talented healthcare workers with experience in fragile health care contexts who are motivated to increase their impact in improving those systems, currently pursue the Master’s programme at KIT.

The collaboration combines KIT’s sixty-year legacy of training health professionals to improve global healthcare where it is most needed, with TSH Talent Foundation’s mission to transform talent into global impact. Students who are admitted to the Master’s programme can apply for the full scholarship through the KIT Fund website. From the selection off full scholarship applications, the KIT Fund proposes candidates for the Changemakers scholarship to the TSH Talent Foundation.

A Holistic Approach to Learning

With the Changemaker Scholarship, Accommodation is offered by TSH Talent Foundation at The Social Hub Amsterdam and includes comprehensive support services. Scholars receive mentorship, professional development workshops; a peer-learning framework focused on changemaking and access to a vibrant community in Amsterdam. KIT Fund covers the remaining costs of the full scholarship, amongst which is the tuition fee for the Master’s program at KIT Institute.

It is wonderful to collaborate with a partner who recognises the significant potential impact of the students and consciously chooses not only to focus on education, but also to also contribute to personal growth, networking, and leadership through their mentoring programme.

Leadership Skills and Network Building

The impact of the scholarship extends far beyond individual scholars. KIT Institute graduates not only graduate equipped with advanced health knowledge and strategic thinking, but also with new perspectives and lifelong networks with both other health workers as well as fellow changemakers committed to creating a more equitable world. Or as one of the recipients of the scholarship, Eiman Elgaali, mentions: “We learn and develop our skills together.”

The Changemakers programme offers me an inspiring space where diverse networks come together, and we learn and develop our leadership skills. It gives me confidence to translate ideas into meaningful solutions to tackle pressing world challenges.

Students from low(er) income countries are almost always dependent on scholarships to study at KIT. In recent years, scholarship opportunities have rapidly decreased. We invite foundations, companies, and individuals to join our mission to create healthier, more equitable communities worldwide. Please contact us at kitfund@kit.nl  or find more information below.
