Feminists on the Edge: Join Our Special Event
Since 2017, together with UN Women Training Centre, KIT Institute has run Feminist Edge – a professional development programme for gender trainers. Feminist Edge re-captures and re-imagines gender training as a feminist project, establishing a new approach to training for gender equality.
On Tuesday, 5 August, Feminist Edge will host a Special Event titled: Feminists on the Edge: Reshaping Global Solidarities and Activism in the Context of Global Backlash.
The event features Dr. Lina AbiRafeh, who will share insights from nearly 30 years of advancing gender equality worldwide. Drawing on her experience in the MENA region and her new initiative Better4Women, Lina will reflect on the global backlash against women’s rights and the feminist responses pushing back. She will challenge the limitations of traditional humanitarian approaches, confront stereotypes of Arab feminists, and call for more inclusive, decolonised, and caring feminist solidarities. The session will conclude with her “Feminist Firestarter Kit,” offering practical tools to ignite feminist change in diverse contexts
