Kick-off BRIDGE Mentorship Initiative

KIT Institute has launched the BRIDGE Mentorship Initiative in partnership with the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp. This new initiative supports early-career researchers conducting epidemiological studies by pairing them with experienced mentors for a year-long, one-to-one exchange.

The pilot round brings together six mentor–mentee pairs from Peru, Kenya, Nepal, South Africa, Rwanda, and the Netherlands. Over the coming year, they will engage in regular exchanges focused on strengthening the design and conduct of local studies. Discussions will follow the six BRIDGE standards, exploring best practices, challenges, and opportunities to ensure research is both scientifically rigorous and socially impactful.

At the end of the pilot, participants will be invited to join a long-term BRIDGE community of practice to continue learning and dialogue on research integrity and fairness.
