KIT Institute designated as WHO Collaborating Centre for Human Resources for Health

The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially designated KIT Institute in Amsterdam as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Human Resources for Health for the next four years.

The designation, which runs from October 9, 2025 to October 8, 2029, was confirmed by the WHO Regional Office for Europe. Dr. Marjolein Dieleman will continue to serve as Head of the Centre.

The designation acknowledges KIT Institute’s expertise and long-standing collaboration with WHO in the area of human resources for health. As a WHO Collaborating Centre, KIT Institute will support WHO in the following areas:

The Centre’s activities will focus on research, training and education, and on supporting WHO in the implementation of programmes and activities at country level, in line with WHO’s priorities for strengthening the health workforce.

This designation places KIT Institute within a global network of more than 800 WHO Collaborating Centres across over 80 Member States, which contribute to WHO’s programmes through research, capacity building and knowledge exchange.

The recognition reaffirms KIT’s commitment to supporting WHO’s mission of achieving better health for all through a strong and sustainable health workforce.
