Do you want to study a short course at KIT in Spring 2021 and are you still looking for financing? We are happy to inform you that there are scholarships available from the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) for applicants from 53 eligible countries.
If you are you a health professional from one of the 53 eligible OKP countries we encourage you to explore this scholarship opportunity and apply as soon as possible for academic admission so you are ready to apply for the OKP scholarship when the application period opens!

Scholarships Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP)
Upcoming application period: 2 September – 16 October 2020
- Apply first to KIT Royal Tropical Institute for academic admission (if applying for OKP): as soon as possible but at the latest by 14 September 2020
- Registration period OKP scholarship: from 2 September until 16 October 2020
Should the COVID-19 situation not allow classes in Amsterdam the majority of our courses will be given via E-learning. Applicants will be informed timely if anything changes in the set up of the course of their choice.

Courses on Health Systems Strengthening
Health Policy and Financing
Course dates: 17 May – 4 June 2021
An in-depth look at important issues and current debates in health policy, health economics and health financing, taking into account the diverse profit and not for profit systems.
Courses on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and HIV and AIDS
Sexual and Reproductive health and Rights including HIV and AIDS
Course dates: 8 – 26 March 2021
This course explores key principles of SRHR practice across a range of content areas. It also explores key considerations for SRHR and HIV policy and practices.
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights: Organising Effective Responses
Course dates: 12 April – 3 May 2021
This course builds on current evidence to critically identify and analyse responses across the health system, including emergency and fragile state settings. It also focuses on making services equitable accessible to marginalised groups and key populations.
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Policy, Governance and Financing
Course dates: 17 May – 4 June 2021
In this course participants become acquainted with the policy instruments, governance mechanisms and financial structures related to SRHR.
NEW: Sante et Droits Sexuels et Reproductifs (in French)
Course dates: 8 -19 Mars 2021

Courses on Disease Management
Control Strategies for Infectious and non-communicable diseases
Course dates: 12 April – 3 May 2021
In this course a number of communicable and non-communicable (NCD) diseases are used as models to demonstrate different aspects and principles of disease control.
(E-learning) Rebuilding Disrupted Health Systems – developing context-specific strategies for health care policies, implementation and governance
Course dates: 29 March – 18 June 2021
GIS for Global Health
Course dates: 21 June – 2 July 2021
In this training you will learn what data and methods are used to detect areas of high disease risk and to compare these with geographic patterns of health service delivery.

E-Learning: Good Epidemiology practice: design, implementation and analysis of global health studies
Course dates: 7 – 11 December 2020
This course aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to critically appraise epidemiological practice in global health, as a basis for sound decision-making.
Qualitative Methods in Health Systems Research
Course dates: 20 January – 9 February 2021
Participants gain experience in each step of the qualitative research process and learn ways to enhance the utilisation of research results.
Human Resources for Health
Course dates: 15 – 26 February 2021
This course provides knowledge and skills that health care managers, policy makers and planners need for human resource management. It discusses strategies at country and workplace level to address health workforce issues.
Master in International Health (MIH)
Course dates: start dates 8 March 2021 or 13 September 2021.
Full-time or part-time option possible (1 up to 5 years)
The aim of the MIH is to develop the capacity of health professionals working at the interface of international organisations and national health systems.
Netherlands Course in Global Health and Tropical Medicine (NTC)
(core course MIH or stand-alone course)
Course dates: 8 March – 11 June 2021 or autumn (given twice a year)
This course provides essential preparation for health professionals such as medical doctors, nurses and midwives planning to work in low and middle income countries.
