Master Programmes in 2024
We are pleased to announce the launch of our newly updated Master Programmes for 2024. The new set-up of our Master programmes means a more integral approach of our education programmes to respond better to current developments and needs of our participants.
- Master of Science in Public Health and Health Equity NEW
Start September 2024
The Master of Public Health and Health Equity (MPH-HE) is a mid-career Master of Science programme, organised by KIT Royal Tropical Institute and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). The new Master of Science in Public Health and Health Equity focuses on health equity in low-resource settings and in high-resource settings with disadvantaged populations, using a gender and inclusive approach. It offers five different specialisation tracks in epidemiology, health systems and policy, and sexual and reproductive health and rights and tailor made options. This programme is a merger of the Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master in International Health (MIH) and as from September 2024 it replaces both programmes. - Core Course in Public Health and Health Equity
Start September 2024
Course dates: 9 September -13 December 2024 or 3 March -6 June 2025 (given twice a year)
This a three-month course prepares you to systematically analyse and address complex public health issues, covering epidemiology, health system aspects, and broader social determinants of health.
- Netherlands Course on Global Health and Tropical Medicine (NTC) (core course Master in International Health or stand-alone course)
Course dates: : 6 March – 9 June 2023 or 11 September – 15 December 2023 (given twice a year)
This course provides essential preparation for health professionals such as medical doctors, nurses and midwives planning to work in low and middle income countries.

Scholarship Options
Are you looking for financial support to study at KIT? We advise you to explore different options. Sometimes employers, governments, bilateral agencies are willing to support. Also there are a number of other full and partial scholarship options. Options differ per nationality and profession. Worthwile exploring are a.o. MENA scholarship, Aga Khan Foundation and more. There is an interesting ‘partial scholarship’ opportunity from KIT Fund which might be of interest to applicants who can secure a part of the funding via other ways.
