Upcoming Webinar: The Future of the Health Sector in Syria

Senior Advisor and Chair of KIT Institute’s Centre for Health Systems in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Settings (FCAS) Eelco Jacobs will speak on the political economy of health workforce data governance in Syria — a crucial aspect of post-conflict recovery.

As part of this event, Eelco will present on the political economy of health workforce data governance in Syria, a topic that speaks directly to one of the most persistent challenges in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.

Effective health workforce planning depends on knowing who makes up the health labour force. Yet in many FCAS, data systems remain fragmented. Addressing this requires more than technical solutions; it demands understanding the political economy: the power, incentives, and interests shaping how data are produced and used. Only by unpacking these dynamics can we find real entry points for support and build resilient, evidence-informed health systems.
