Voices for Gaza: Delivering basic healthcare in a crisis

There are currently no fully functioning hospitals in the Gaza Strip. Medical facilities are lacking personnel, beds, medicine, equipment and electricity. The extent of damage to both medical facilities and water and sanitation infrastructure raises significant concerns regarding the potential spread of communicable diseases

We spoke to participants and speakers at the conference ‘Uniting Knowledge Resources and Solidarity: Gaza Health Initiative’, held in Amsterdam, to capture the efforts being made by the international community to support healthcare workers in Gaza to deliver basic healthcare services and the challenges they face.

This video was produced and published by KIT Institute and the Gaza Health Initiative. We extend our special thanks to Médecins Sans Frontières, Juzoor for Health and Social Development, and Al Jazeera for providing footage that offers a glimpse into the realities facing the people of Gaza.

Last year, our global health teams interviewed 10 TB programme implementers from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Zambia, and Zimbabwe about how climate-related disasters affect TB services — and how geospatial tools can […]
