Get Up Speak Out! Improve Access of Young People to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Services

The aim of the ‘Get Up Speak Out!’ (GUSO) project is to improve access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights information (SRHR), education and services for young people and empower them to claim their rights, make decisions and participate meaningfully in society. The project is implemented in 7 countries – Pakistan, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Malawi.

The Get Up Speak Out (GUSO) programme is a joint collaboration between Rutgers (the lead partner), CHOICE, Simavi, IPPF and dance4life. KIT is researching and evaluating this 5 year programme, through programme performance studies at base, mid and end line in 5 countries and comparative research studies in 2 countries using mixed methods. The activities are on-going across the 5 years of the programme and is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
KIT is working with the GUSO consortium to achieve the following:

  1. To evaluate (progress towards) programme outcomes and the long-term objective of the GUSO programme.
  2. To understand what processes have led to these results, including enabling factors and barriers
  3. To propose feasible recommendations to inform future programme design
