Researchers from KIT Royal Tropical Institute conducted a qualitative baseline study of 55 small-scale producer organisations (farmer cooperatives) in six countries – Côte d’Ivoire, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and Peru.

The objective of the research was to provide insights into the conditions, internal and external, that are necessary for small-scale producer organisations to successfully develop, and how Fairtrade can best support and influence those.
