Q-Point
KIT was part of a consortium working with the Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment (RISE) to establish a sustainable and practice-oriented agriculture training centre for male and female skilled labour. This aimed to contribute to the delivery of adequate training for the agricultural sector in Egypt.
Best practice centre
RISE – formerly the Desert Development Centre and part of the American University in Cairo (AUC) – requested the support of NUFFIC’s NICHE programme in order to establish a best practice centre for agricultural training in Egypt.
KIT focused on the gender mainstreaming aspect of RISE, both at the organisational level as well as in their curriculum. We guided the development of gender policy in collaboration with RISE’s gender team, and the development of a strategic plan for its implementation. Our contribution also included a gender awareness raising campaign and training, including training of trainers. As a result, RISE staff made several visits to the Netherlands to attend workshops hosted by KIT.
