KIT Royal Tropical Institute is working with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a UN organisation, to strengthen the most promising agricultural value chains in Malawi. We provide hands-on assistance in analysing value chains and designing actions to improve development of these chains.
Developing value chains for investment
In this project, we have selected the most promising agricultural value chains in Malawi and analysed them to identify opportunities for investment. The implementing partners of the programme include:
- private businesses
- civil society
- government agencies and
- research institutions.
The programme has focused on four value chains: peanuts, potato, dairy and soy. KIT trained the programme staff and main stakeholders in the basics of value chain analysis and development, and coached them in carrying out practical value chain research.
