Health and Prosperity: How Dutch Investments in Global Health Drive Security and Economic Growth
- Publication year
- June 2025
On 10 March, KIT Institute hosted the high-level conference “Health and Prosperity: How Dutch Investments in Global Health Drive Security and Economic Growth”, bringing together key stakeholders to examine the Netherlands’ investment role in global health initiatives. This event will highlight the economic and societal return on investment of Dutch contributions to global health financing, which is especially timely in light of global cuts in international collaboration.
Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria are two major global health financing organisations dedicated to improving health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. In 2025, both initiatives are each undertaking replenishment processes to mobilise resources for their upcoming funding cycles.
This event explored the Netherlands’ unique contributions to these two global health initiatives and their benefits to Dutch private sector and Dutch society at large. The event convened diverse stakeholders across government, media, private sector, foundations, CSOs, and multilaterals created a space for connecting and critical conversations on the importance of these two initiatives.
