We facilitate evidence-based decision-making using our technical expertise in the most recent monitoring and evaluation (M&E) methodologies. Our work is grounded in local realities – supported by our network of local partners and our experience deploying field activities in a quick and efficient manner.

Our approach and expertise
We provide relevant, actionable solutions to questions such as: What is our impact on the livelihoods of our clients and beneficiaries? Have we achieved what we set out to do? What do we need to change to maximise our impact?
Our work is based on three guiding principles:
- True partnership with our clients – close collaboration ensures that we have a deep understanding of your needs, which is key to generating relevant insights.
- Customisation – we adapt the tools that we have developed on the basis of internationally validated, rigorous methods for each client.
- Independence – our methods and findings are independent, evidence-based and unbiased.
We help you with your impact journey
Our expertise allows us to help you at all steps of your impact journey, from decision-making between different paths, to design to evaluation and communication. And at each step, we focus on maximising learning. We understand that when the scope, circumstances or methods change during the course of a project, they need a partner that changes along. Our pragmatic approach allows us to rapidly adapt to different environments.
We strive to contribute to creating impact on the ground. Our research is demand-driven, informed by the questions of our partners and clients. Our work builds on shared knowledge from all our different projects, which together form a ‘knowledge-based public good’ that all of our partners can benefit from. We work in close collaboration with our KIT colleagues from other teams and make use of their broad content expertise [on e.g., youth, gender, farming, financial inclusion].
Mixed-methods approaches
We believe in mixed-methods approaches and focus on not only understanding the what, but also the why and the how. This yields valuable insight that goes beyond the numbers.
In the past five years, we have completed numerous evaluation and learning projects, the majority of which involved primary data collection in over 25 countries. We used a variety of data collection tools ranging from large-scale surveys to lean, rapid data collection and harvesting change stories, both on-site and remotely.
We have collected data on a wide range of topics, including:
- Agricultural production and productivity – cocoa, maize, potato, rice, cassava, …
- Agricultural practices
- Employment and livelihood strategies
- Household income and poverty level
- Living conditions
- Access to financial services
- Citizen participation
