Mayada El-Zoghbi

Mayada El-Zoghbi is an economic development expert with over 20 years of leadership experience focusing on inclusion and market systems development. She has published extensively on inclusive finance and a myriad of other topics in economic development and is a regular speaker at international conferences and events.

From 2019, Mayada has led the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion, an independent think tank based in Washington, D.C., that provides research, advocacy, and thought leadership in the inclusive finance field. 

Previous positions have included Strategy, R&D Lead with the World Bank Group’s Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) in New York and Washington, DC (2015-2019), and Head of Office of the CGAP in Paris, France (2009-2014).

A dual national of Egypt and the U.S., Mayada holds an M.A. in International and Public Affairs and Certificate of Middle East Studies from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, and is fluent in Arabic, English and continues to work on her French.
