Nwanneka Okere

Nwanneka Okere is a public health specialist and researcher with a background in pharmacy. She has over 7 years of experience managing the implementation of HIV, TB and Malaria interventions and evaluations in her home country Nigeria and leading a HIV implementation research project in Tanzania.

She holds a Master’s in International Health from the Charité University of Medicine in Berlin and is currently completing her PhD in Global Health at the University of Amsterdam. Her PhD research examined the feasibility and impact of the differentiated service delivery (DSD) strategy in HIV programmes from the perspectives of both patients and providers. Nwanneka is interested in health services and systems research that explore innovative and sustainable evidence-based strategies for strengthening the health system especially in low- and middle-income countries.

At KIT, Nwanneka works in the health systems strengthening unit as an advisor. She is currently working on a multi-country evaluation for UNICEF WCARO which is assessing the performance of the KRC2 strategy in the region.
