The KIT Alumni Network connects a global community of health professionals committed to improving health and health equity around the world. Since the 1960s, more than 4,000 health professionals from over 95 countries have studied at KIT, creating a network that spans countries, regions and generations.

For many, studying at KIT is the beginning of lasting professional and personal connections. Alumni continue to exchange knowledge and experience, collaborate across countries and organisations, and contribute to health systems, health equity, research, health policy and programme worldwide.

A global community beyond the classroom

The KIT alumni network offers opportunities for alumni to reconnect, share expertise, learn from one another and explore new forms of collaboration.

The wider KIT community also includes (former) staff, educators and advisors who contribute to teaching, supervise students and contribute to other projects and activities within KIT.

Alumni themselves continue to play an active role in KIT’s work. KIT’s projects regularly draw on alumni’s expertise to collaborate with as advisors or partners in research or evaluation projects or involved in areas such as training or thesis. Other times, alumni approach KIT to explore opportunities to work together.

These continuing relationships connect KIT education and research with professional practice and help sustain a global community of people working towards better health outcomes and greater health equity.

Connecting and strengthening the alumni network

In August 2025, more than 200 alumni joined the first alumni-initiated and alumni-led KIT Alumni Event, both at KIT in Amsterdam and online from around the world.

Under the theme Reconnect, Reflect and (Re)ignite, alumni came together to renew old connections, make new ones and exchange ideas about how to build a more active, visible and supportive global alumni network.

The event also marked an important milestone with the election of the first KIT Alumni Global Council. The alumni-led Council serves from 2025 to 2027 and works to strengthen the network, support alumni engagement at global and regional levels, and help shape its future development.
