Expansion of basic service delivery: Maternal Health and Mental Health
This session brings together leaders of frontline service delivery organizations, UNRWA and NGOs who have all worked towards meeting the basic rights to health.
While we reflect on the immediate response that has taken place for continuous service delivery in the Gaza strip and discuss the ongoing challenges encountered, we look forward to the stabilization period, i.e. the transition between response and recovery, and early to mid-term recovery.
The goal of this phase of recovery is to support humanitarian response and lay the foundation for long-term health systems recovery.

Supporting the health workforce during crisis (in Maurits Zaal)
Together with key experts and representatives of organizations supporting the Gaza health workforce, in this session we will dive deeper into the daily life and issues of a health worker in Gaza, discuss coping and support mechanisms to address their challenges and explore immediate and longer-term needs in light of future strategic directions for human resources for health response and recovery.

Access to essential medicines and commodities in Gaza (in the Council Room)
This session will bring together experts from both Palestinian and international organizations to showcase the status of medicines supply for health care delivery. Panelist will explore this topic holistically by considering the different domains of medicines management cycle.
The cycle represents the ideal steps taken for the effective management of medicines supply to ensure equitable access.
The ideal assumes that rational selection, affordable prices, reliable supply/transportation systems, and sustainable financing are present. The panelists will explore deviations from the ideal and highlight the current needs in each domain of the medicines management cycle.

Revitalizing & Rebuilding the Health Information System (in the Maxima Zaal)
This session will reflect and assess the status of the health information system to provide information on 3 critical areas: outbreak surveillance, critical maternal and child health indicators, and service availability and preparedness.
It will seek to outline strategies for restarting the health information system to inform on the three critical areas directly after cease-fire and outline the required governance, infrastructure and operational resources needed to restart and rebuild the health information system in short-term and long-term.

Strengthening the workforce and the medical education system (in the Council Room)
Various initiatives have emerged and are committed to support students to continue their medical education, in collaboration with Palestinian medical education institutes. This session will bring these stakeholders together to discuss the needs, learn from successful initiatives and identify short- and long-term priorities and strategies to support the medical education system.
Meanwhile, the future health workforce needs to be prepared to serve a population with different needs, including trauma, disabilities, response to outbreaks and other public health concerns. They’ll need to understand how to work in and support a system that needs to be rebuild.

Health sector governance and finance for early recovery and transition (in the Maurits Zaal)
Learning from evidence and experiences in contexts affected by Fragility, Conflict, and Violence, experts and stakeholders will reflect on different opportunities and challenges for health financing mechanisms and the possible instruments that can enhance effective governance, finance, coordination and stewardship during early recovery and transition.
The session starts with two short presentations about the evidence and experiences from similar contexts, and the governance and finance needs of the health care system in Gaza.
The session participants then work in small groups facilitated by the guest panelists to discuss and analyse the opportunities and challenges for different early recovery scenarios and instruments.
