KIT Royal Tropical Institute, as part of the Break Free! Programme, has conducted research on youth-led advocacy in Ethiopia and Mali in 2022-23. We have documented youth-led organisations’ experiences in leading and conducting SRHR-related advocacy and strategies. In this side event, we aim to share these study findings and use the ensuing discussions to facilitate a space for youth
advocates (under 30 years old) to discuss their experiences,
strategies and good practices in SRHR advocacy. The event will also to enable youth advocates to connect with each other and foster
cross-country learning.
The session will be facilitated by Dagmawit Workagegnehu, Women Deliver Young Leader and Marielle le Mat, KIT SRHR advisor, will present the research findings.

In this session hosted by KIT Royal Tropical Institute and Advocates for Youth, we will discuss three solutions-oriented focus areas with experts and participants using the fishbowl technique, while the audience will formulate actionable recommendations for each:
Co-creating public support for comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) through multi-stakeholder dialogue
Leveraging digital CSE resources to reach marginalized youth
Increasing the evidence-based understanding of the nature of public and political polemics on CSE
Side event: Breaking the silence on Infertility: catalyzing rights-based pathways for fertility care
When: Thursday 20th of July, 12:30–13:45 CAT
Where: Online Conference
Infertility is a source of significant health burden as well as stigma and shame for many. The burden of infertility is disproportionally carried by women. Globally, 48.5 million couples are affected by infertility. However, fertility care remains inaccessible for most in-need and is usually absent from global health discussions and country-level policies and strategies. In this session organized by IPPF and Share-Net we will share the latest prevalence estimates of infertility globally, share stories of couples -women and men- affected by infertility and discuss models of fertility care. With a panel of speakers from iNGOs, CBO’s and WHO we want to create space for breaking the silence on infertility and fertility care.
