KIT at Chocoa 2025: sustainability & quality

News

26 February 2014

On March 28 the conference Cocoa 2025: sustainability & quality will take hold of the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam. KIT is the main knowledge partner of Chocoa and contributes to the program with presentations, inviting guests speakers and facilitating discussions.

Ambitions

During the Chocoa conference we will inspire all stakeholders working on sustainable cocoa. The program features key note speakers from all over the world, from cocoa producing countries as well as from consuming countries. Speakers offer experiences and views from various sectors (like fine flavor cocoa and coffee), various countries (like Ecuador and Cameroon) and various relevant themes (like gender and climate change). We have invited representatives of both main stream and niche markets to share their ideas and innovations and stimulate creative synergy.

Anna Laven, senior advisor KIT: ‘I am enthusiastic about the second Chocoa Congress. Like last year we have been able to develop an interesting program where we bring together different stakeholders to discuss sustainable & quality cocoa. For KIT this is an important event. We have a valuable contribution to make in terms of sharing our expertise on recent developments within the cocoa sector and faciliate exchange between different types of stakeholders. But it is clearly not a one-way avenue: we get inspired too, and get to know and learn from other particpants.’

Chocoa, more than just a conference:

The second Chocoa Festival: good cocoa, better chocolate is a multi-day event organised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from March 27 until March 31. Apart from the conference you can join us in the Beurs van Berlage at the Chocoa Trade Fair on March 27, bringing together cocoa producers from various origins and chocolate makers and other cocoa users. During the weekend the general public is welcome to chocolate tastings, lectures and master classes in the Maritime Museum and on Monday the festival closes with master classes for top chefs in the Amsterdam Hilton.
