Charlotte van Tuijl
Charlotte van Tuijl, MSc, is a Junior Advisor in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Her background in nutrition and health sciences allows her to approach public health issues from a scientific, social and intersectional perspective. Her areas of expertise include SRHR, global health, nutrition and health, and food security.
Charlotte mainly works on research and capacity strengthening projects in Western Africa, including Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Bénin and Sénégal, in which she facilitates learning processes and research activities. Additionally, she is part of the Break Free! research team. Furthermore, she is working for the project Share-Net International, the Knowledge Platform on SRHR with hubs in Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Colombia, Ethiopia, Jordan and the Netherlands. She is, among others, coordinating the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning agenda and supporting the organisation of the Co-Creation Conference.
Alongside her work at KIT, Charlotte is the Secretary of the board of CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality, a youth-led organisation that believes all young people should have the power to make decisions about their sexual, reproductive and love lives. Before joining KIT, Charlotte was engaged in research activities focusing on public health, food and nutrition, food systems, and its interlinkages with SRHR. She is goal-oriented, analytical and a team player.
