John Belt


John Belt is an agricultural economist with more than 20 years’ field experience in agricultural development. His expertise involves value chain development, marketing, contract farming, micro-enterprise development, impact investment, private-public partnerships, participatory approaches and project management.

Apart from his vast experience in conducting short-term consultancy and advisory work in various developing countries, John has carried out long-term assignments for bilateral and multilateral agencies in East Africa (Tanzania, Mozambique), Asia (Yemen) and Latin America (Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru).
