Lindy van Vliet

Lindy van Vliet is Head of Knowledge at KIT Royal Tropical Institute and a member of the organisation’s Management Team. She also serves as the Coordinator for the Dutch SDG 3 Alliance and is a founding member of the Dutch Global Health Alliance.

Lindy oversees KIT’s work in epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health and rights, health systems strengthening and health education. Under her leadership, KIT’s global health unit aims to generate and share new knowledge to improve practice in global health and ensure better health for all, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. She is a firm believer in the power of individual and collective action, which guides her work to drive innovation and forge new partnerships in global health, both overseas and in the Netherlands.

She has more than 20 years of experience in international development and global health. Prior to joining KIT, she served in a variety of positions at Oxfam Novib, most recently as the Manager for Impact Investments in Small and Medium Enterprises in Africa and Asia. She lived in Nicaragua early in her career, working as a trainer and consultant on organisational and programme development for TESIS Nicaragua.

Lindy holds a Masters in Political Science, International Relations, from the University of Amsterdam. She lives with her family in Amsterdam, not far from KIT’s campus.
