Lisanne Gerstel

Lisanne Gerstel is a medical doctor and field epidemiologist by training with over 16 years of work experience in public health.

Working mostly on tuberculosis (TB) projects, she is an external monitoring and evaluation officer in for pilots of innovative interventions for TB Control under TB REACH since 2010 in several countries. She is focal point for Ukraine under the Strategic Initiative to find the missing cases of TB which is funded by the Global Fund and implemented by the Stop TB Partnership and World Health Organization.

Post Graduate Education in Public Health is another area that she is passionate about. She is Programme Director of the Master programmes at KIT and part of the coordination team of the Master of Public Health. In this programme she coordinates modules on epidemiology and disease control of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Lisanne enjoys the exploration of new learning methods, reviewing course curricula and evaluating them against training needs and developments in the field.
