Louis van den Berghe

Louis van den Berghe is the Chief Financial Officer of KIT Royal Tropical Institute. In addition to his role as CFO, Louis is also responsible for KIT’s heritage building and its facilities, where he takes a particular interest in making the building more sustainable. A General Manager with a financial background, Louis worked previously for multiple NGO’s and commercial companies within the Netherlands. During his 25 years’ experience he has set up, reorganised and managed financial and project administrations, developed project reports and managerial tools regarding project acquisition, financial administration and management.

Louis received his Bachelor of Economics from Marcus Verbeek Education and his Masters of Human Geography from the University of Amsterdam. He is also a qualified massage therapist. A native of Zeeland and long-time resident of Amsterdam, Louis still considers himself to be more of a ‘Zeeuw’.
