Dr. Pratley holds a Doctorate of Public Health from the George Washington University Milken Institute of Public Health’s Global Health Department. His dissertation research examined the measurement of women’s empowerment and its relationships with maternal and child health outcomes. He has conducted evaluations for WHO, the World Bank, UNICEF and the University of Oxford. He has published extensively on women’s autonomy and empowerment and its interlinkages with maternal and child health and is the coauthor of the WHO HEN report on community empowerment.
At KIT, he currently leads an evaluation for a systems strengthening project on prevention and community rehabilitation in Nepal and an evaluation of a multi-sectoral ECD program in the Palestinian Territory for UNICEF. He also is a senior technical member of an impact evaluation that examines the outcomes of a child nutrition, ECD and WASH program in Bangladesh and leads the NCD portfolio as well as technical assistance for Performance Based Financing in Western Africa for the World Bank.
