Tom van Mourik is a Senior Advisor on Agriculture and Seed Systems at KIT in Amsterdam. He holds an MSc degree in ecology and conservation from the Free University, Amsterdam and a PhD degree in Production and Resource ecology (Agriculture) from Wageningen University. He has over 15 years of work experience in applied research on agro-food systems, nutrition-sensitive agriculture and nutritious value chains, communication and scaling of agricultural innovations and integration of gender into agricultural development. He has experience in research and development in agronomy, breeding and seed systems, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, extension and scaling of agricultural innovations. In his various positions in the CGIAR (CIP in Ghana and ICRISAT in Mali), and at Helen Keller International in Senegal he has coordinated the implementation of research and development projects on sustainable intensification of dryland agriculture, nutrition-sensitive agriculture and gender-responsive training and communication in large scale dissemination of agricultural innovations.
