About the role
As Senior Communications Advisor, you are responsible for developing, directing, and safeguarding the organisation’s strategic communication in a rapidly changing, digital, and media-driven environment. You contribute to reputation, positioning, and stakeholder engagement through integrated communication approaches that combine online and offline channels, content strategy, and data-driven insights.
You act as a sparring partner for the executive team and management, advising on strategic communication, change processes, reputation issues, and external positioning. In this role, you report directly to the CEO.
Your responsibilities
- You develop and implement a communication strategy aligned with the organisation’s mission, vision, and objectives;
- You ensure clear positioning and a consistent brand identity across all channels;
- You advise and support the primary process owners within the Knowledge Institute and within Real Estate/Events in shaping their marketing communications so that these are effective and aligned with the chosen positioning;
- You advise the executive team and management on strategic communication, communication in business development processes, reputation, and change Communication;
- You develop integrated communication plans, campaigns, and content strategies;
- You steer the effective use of channels, resources, and budgets based on data and impact measurement;
- You maintain relationships with media, agencies, designers, platforms, and other external partners;
- You contribute to the organisation’s visibility in relevant media and networks and act as spokesperson when required;
- You professionally organise communication processes, content planning, and channel management;
- You strengthen internal communication in consultation with People & Culture and support crisis and issue communication.
What do you bring?
- Higher professional education (HBO) working and thinking level in Communications, Media, Marketing, or a related field;
- Thorough knowledge of strategic communication, reputation management, and Branding;
- Insight into digital communication, social media, content strategy, and online Analytics;
- Experience with internal communication and change communication;
- Basic knowledge of crisis communication and media relations;
- Experience providing strategic communication advice at executive level;
- Strong writing skills and the ability to write for different target audiences and Channels;
- Experience with stakeholder management, managing external agencies, and measuring communication impact;
- In addition, you are environmentally aware, creative, persuasive, results-oriented, and proactive.
Terms of employment
- An interesting and diverse work environment within a unique organization;
- A salary between € 4.227, – and € 5802,- gross per month for a 38-hour workweek, depending on knowledge and experience, 8% vacation pay, and enrolment in the ABP Pension Fund;
- Approximately 25 vacation days per year (for full-time employment);
- The option to exchange Christian holidays for holidays observed by other religions;
- A workplace in a historic building in the heart of Amsterdam, with the option to work from home;
